Highest Students Going Abroad: AP-TS No. 1

It is becoming increasingly common for students from the Telugu states to go abroad for further studies and job opportunities. While the USA is the obvious number one choice, the UK, Canada, and Australia have emerged as other alternatives.

Coming to the topic, the latest statistics according to the Beyond Beds & Boundaries: Indian Student Mobility Report, 2023, Andhra Pradesh and Telangana stand as the joint number 1 states when it comes to the highest number of students going abroad.

Reportedly, 12.5% of the Indian students who are going abroad are from the Telugu states. Essentially, nearly 13 of every 100 Indian students who are going abroad hail from Andhra Pradesh and Telangana.

Punjab and Maharashtra are other joint toppers on the list as they too have 12.5% of their student population flying out abroad. Next come Gujarat, Delhi, and Tamil Nadu with 8%.

On a related note, the US Embassy had recently statted they issued over 1 million visas in India this year which is again a record number.
