Indian American Gains Support For The US Congress

The Indian American community of the USA has gained a strong foothold in the political arena in recent years. From two Indian origin candidates contesting for the Presidential election to holding office in the US Congress, the community has performed well and continue to further their political ambitions. The Mayor of Hoboken, New Jersey has gained huge support for his candidature as the democratic primary.

Ravi Bhalla is running for the democratic primary for the US House from New Jersey. The past few weeks have been great for Ravi and he has gained support and endorsement from the stakeholders.

His election would create a historic milestone for the Indian Americans. Ravi will become the first South Asian to represent New Jersey in the Congress. Currently there are five Indian Americans serving in the US House.

Ravi is currently challenging Representative Rob Menendez jr. and his fate will be sealed on the 4th of June. Indian American Impact, an advocacy group, has backed his campaign. The group has managed to fund $20 million to the Indian Americans across the country who are contesting for political power. This has significantly contributed to the growth of Indian representation in US politics.
