After Donald Trump came to power, he has struck down on illegal immigrants on a priority basis. So, the illegal means through which immigrants try to enter the US have come into focus.

Given such times, death of a young Indian trying to enter US through the ‘Dunki’ route has come to light. 33-yr-old Punjabi man Gurpreet died of a heart attack in Guatemala on his way through the Dunki route.

Thier family shared the news to media. They shared that their brother left home 3 months back through an agent in Chandigarh, Balweender Singh. He paid Rs 16.5 lakh to the agent.

Following this, Gurpreet went to Guyana where he met a Pakistani agent. From here, he went through Panama forest to Colombia along with others like him.

Later, Gurpreet called saying he was at a hotel in Guatemala. After this, recently, the family got a call from his agent that his situation was critical and that he was having breathing problems.

Immediately after that, the news of his death came, said Gurpreet’s brother Tara Singh. The family is requesting government’s help to bring back Gurpreet’s body.

Punjab minister Kuldeep Singh Daliwal met the family and expressed his condolences. He said Gurpreet’s death was sad and said one needs to go through legal means. The minister said it was not right to go through Dunki route.




It is known that Trump had sent back 104 Indian illegal immigrants in a military plane immediately after taking office.
