Donald Trump’s reckless remarks are coming to haunt him and an Indian-American lawyer is at the forefront of this battle.

During the presidential debate against Kamala Harris, Trump was repeatedly called out for his lies on the spot by the hosts. One of which was an insensitive and baseless comment about the Haitian community eating their pets.
He had targeted the community in the past as well, spreading misinformation when he was President. These are a result of a long running stereotype against Haitian people and even led to bomb threats to the region.

The former President is now getting dragged to court for propagating such racist views. The Haitian Bridge Alliance, a non-profit organization representing the community, has appointed the Indian-American Lawyer Subodh Chandra to fight their battle.
Trump and his VP pick JD Vance are facing multiple charges that they will have to defend in Clark County Municipal Court. This incident adds to the list of Republicans getting in trouble for their attacks against immigrant communities.

Subodh Chandra also has a strong tie with the Democratic Party but he denied that this had any effect on him taking up this case. The lawsuit could be the albatross around Trump’s neck so close to the elections.
