Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu and Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan have reportedly held another meeting to discuss seat-sharing differences within the ruling TDP-Jana Sena-BJP alliance ahead of the MPTC and ZPTC elections.
Pawan Kalyan visited Chandrababu‘s residence in Undavalli for discussions as the nomination deadline approached on Friday, October 23. The two leaders reportedly discussed constituencies where the alliance partners have yet to reach an understanding.
The meeting reportedly lasted around half an hour, with discussions focused on resolving differences over the allocation of Mandal Parishad Territorial Constituency (MPTC) and Zilla Parishad Territorial Constituency (ZPTC) seats.
Aspirants from the TDP, Jana Sena and BJP have been filing competing nominations in several constituencies, hoping to secure party tickets. The situation has created difficulties for alliance leaders trying to finalise a common list of candidates.
Chandrababu and Pawan Kalyan reportedly discussed ways to prevent multiple candidates from alliance parties contesting against each other in the same constituencies.
The two leaders had also met on Thursday, October 22, to review local body election developments, including seat-sharing disputes, rebel candidates and the Supreme Court’s recent directions concerning municipal elections.
According to the State Election Commission’s schedule, October 23 is the last date for filing MPTC and ZPTC nominations. Scrutiny is scheduled for October 24, while polling is planned for November 3.
With the nomination deadline approaching, the alliance leadership is seeking to resolve disagreements and ensure coordination among the three parties.
No official announcement has yet been made regarding any fresh seat-sharing decisions arising from the latest reported discussions.
