A shocking tragedy has unfolded in the New Jersey suburbs after an Indian-origin woman was arrested for the murder of her two young sons. The incident has sent shockwaves through the local community.
Incident Reported in Hillsborough Township
Priyatharsini Natarajan, aged 35, has been charged with killing her two sons, aged 5 and 7, inside their home in Hillsborough Township. The children’s father discovered them unconscious when he returned from work on January 13.
Emergency Call and Police Response
The father immediately called 911 and told authorities that his wife had done “something” to the children. Police arrived at the house around 6:45 p.m., along with medical teams, but both boys were pronounced dead at the scene.
Charges Filed by Prosecutors
According to the Somerset County Prosecutor’s Office, the initial investigation indicates that Natarajan allegedly caused the deaths on the same day. She was taken into custody and charged with first-degree murder and possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose.

Priyatharsini reportedly worked as a software professional in the US and held an engineering degree from India. The two boys were students at Sunnymead Elementary School. Their identities have not been disclosed by authorities.
