The terrible incident happened on April 17, 2023, when a cargo containing 6600 bars of pure gold disappeared. The cargo was supposed to be kept safely in the airport’s security premises, but it never reached its destination. The people being the shameful act also included a few names. Which is a reason to worry.
The heist came to light just a few hours after its arrival, as the cargo vanished during the night. CCTV footage tells us the story: a truck, driven by one of the accused, carried the valuables.
It is being said that the criminals used forged paperwork to extract the valuables. The theft included gold bars worth $22 million along with a large sum of foreign currency.
Since the incident, many arrests and warrants have been issued. Now, almost a year later, the criminals behind the heist have been caught, as a cache of stolen gold was recovered, implicating those involved. Unfortunately, the criminal team also included Indians.
The arrested individuals, including Parmpal Sidhu and Simran Preet Panesar, who were employees of Air Canada, and Durante King-Mclean, a 25-year-old man from Brampton, have been apprehended.
