Imagine not just killing someone but stabbing them more than 100 times. You’d expect the culprit to spend a large part of their life in a prison for the next many years. But what if I tell you that a woman who pleaded guilty for the same crime is getting to walk free. This is happening in California, US where an accused convicted for involuntary manslaughter has walked out of court with zero jail time.
The accused had killed his former boyfriend in 2018 by stabbing him 108 times. The woman was arrested by the police when she was screaming in a pool of blood. She was under heavy influence of cannabis and had taken many shots from a bong before the incident.
The medical analysis found that the girl was suffering from cannabis induced psychosis. She was not aware about what she was doing hence the court can only charge her for an involuntary manslaughter.
The accused made a statement grieving for the family of the victim and took responsibility for what happened that day. She is going to serve two year in probation and 100 hours of community service instead.
