A Telugu girl tragically lost her life in Australia while she went for trekking. The incident took place in the Gold Coast hinterland. She was just 23.
Getting into details, Ujwala Vemuru, originally from Andhra Pradesh’s Krishna district, went trekking at the Gold Coast hinterland on March 2.
As she clicked pictures at Yanbacoochie Falls in Lamington National Park, her tripod fell over the edge of a ledge. In her effort to recover it, Ujwala slipped and fell ten meters down a steep slope, then plunged another ten meters into a water hole. The rescue team took around six hours to recover Ujwala’s body.
Ujwala completed her graduation in medicine last year from the Bond University. She was also awarded “West Australia’s brightest young minds” during her Willetton Senior High School 2018 exam results.
