Breaking a few rules occasionally does pump adrenaline in one’s veins, but some rules are made to protect everyone’s life. One of those rules is traffic rules.

But, we Indians hardly care about those, whether wearing helmets and seat belts or driving on the correct side of the road, we tend to ignore these.

One such incident from Gujarat has gone viral on social media. Piyush Dhanani, an activist advocating against wrong-side driving, has faced a physical attack on himself when he tried to stop a group of individuals from driving on the wrong side.

The video showed a side of India that we witness regularly but choose to ignore it. Piyush has been dedicated to spreading awareness and correcting those driving on the wrong side, which has led to disputes in the past too. But, this time the wrongdoers chose to attack him rather than correcting the side of the road they were driving.

If we do not get out of this mentality, the number of road accidents will keep on rising. And, however much we try to convince ourselves that we are developed, we still need a long way to go if this attitude doesn’t go away.
