Ananya Panday is always being trolled for her extravagant and snobbish attitude in movies, but her recent performance in “Kho Gaye Hum Kahan” came like a breeze. Directed by Arjun Varain Singh, the movie was released today on Netflix.
The movie tells the story of three friends, Imaad, Neil, and Ahana, each on their own journey. Neil is an aspiring gym trainer, Imaad is a stand-up comedian, and Ahana, played by Ananya, is dealing with her recent breakup. The best thing about the movie is that it accurately represents this generation. The excessive use of phones showcases that our generation can’t be separated from the device and it plays a role in every moment.
Speaking about the performances, Adarsh Gaurav excels as a gym trainer, brilliantly portraying a guy coming from a middle-class background with huge aspirations. Siddhant Chaturvedi is at his best in his carefree moments. However, the biggest surprise of the movie is Ananya Panday, who shockingly delivers a great performance as a girl dealing with her ex. Her pain and misery are beautifully portrayed.
The movie does have its own issues, such as being preachy at times, and a few emotional moments that do not land well. However, if you are looking for a warm, carefree movie based on friendship, something like “Dil Chahta Hai” or “Tu Hai Mera Sunday,” “Kho Gaye Hum Kahan” is a great option this weekend. It premiered today on Netflix.
