The biggest fear of every Money Heist fan came true. Netflix could not have made it any worse than to use the most popular character of the show, Berlin, in the worst possible way.
The spin-off series based on Berlin, played by Pedro Alonso premiered on the streaming service on 29 December and as expected fans jumped right away to watch it.
The show ‘did not hold up to the class of the original’ is the best way to sum it up. Everything from writing, to casting to action sequences felt forced and off the tone of the original.
Even Pedro Alonso could save this already sunk ship with his charm. Not this time.
Netflix just proved that the original is better than the next. It had happened with many of the shows that lost their charm with forced spin-offs.
Fans loved the original and everyone wanted to watch Berlin for a few more seasons. But, the execution that the creators of ‘Berlin’ did, destroyed all the hopes and wishes anyone had with it.
We could only suggest Netflix to level up its quality control, especially with characters as classy and charming as Berlin.
