Citadel Honey Bunny Flops on Prime

2024 turned out to be a great year for OTT platforms as many shows were held in high regard by the public.

While Mirzapur Season 3 took the top spot, amassing 30.8 Million viewers, Panchayat Season 3 followed closely behind with a viewership of 28.2 Million.

While these shows tasted the flavour of success, ‘Citadel: Honey Bunny’ did not turn out to be so lucky, failing to make its spot in the top 5.

It was beaten in rankings by shows like Indian Police Force (19.5 million viewers) and Call Me Bae (13.6 million viewers), with the whole situation turning out to be a humbling moment for its makers.

While Priyanka Chopra’s Hollywood version became a massive disaster and a huge loss for Amazon Prime Video, the Indian one with Samantha also did not live up to expectations.

Despite having a much lower budget along with getting decent reviews, the audience did not crown it as a ‘big hit’ at all.

Many social media users also came forward to comment on the same.

One user said, “Even with all the hype, Honey Bunny couldn’t break into the rankings. Shows like Mirzapur dominate because they connect with the audience emotionally.”

Another wrote, “It’s not about the budget or star power—Honey Bunny lacked the storytelling depth of a top-ranking series.”

The case of ‘Citadel: Honey Bunny’ often reveals the fact that content that does not resonate with the public has very little chance at success, regardless of its franchise.
