Extraction and Black Mirror Disappoint In Views! See Charts

Extraction Black Mirror Disappoint ViewsThe hype? It was off the charts, then why are the stats saying otherwise? That will be questions we can raise for the new Netflix releases of the week, two big titles. Extraction 2 and Black Mirror season 6, both of them hold a strong fanbase, so what did the numbers dip?

The first installment of Extraction came out in the pandemic period and it was an instant hit. Fans were generally excited for the second part but the release failed to draw massive numbers. It had just 42,800,000 hours of views and that does not reflect the excitement of the fans. For comparison, Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery came out last year and had a limited theatrical release. The movie drew double the watch hours at the same time.

Black Mirror creators released their 6th installment of the show 4 years after season 5. So you can’t even describe how happy fans were to witness this season but the views are just abominable in compa rison to other series. Season 6 drew only 11,300,000 watch hours and that is nowhere near the numbers of Never Have I ever season 4, Manifest, or FUBAR. Even the Arnold documentary drew more views.

Clearly, there has been a lack of promotion for both shows. The makers of Extraction didn’t make much effort to promote it and depending on previous popularity, it didn’t work. About Black Mirror, the audience of the show is different than most OTT shows but the dip is a massive concern.

Subscription numbers of Netflix increased after their new password policy but some specific shows aren’t. Only time will tell about the numbers of the show but right now, there is room for improvement.
