Zee 5 brings this new movie called ‘Ghar Banduk Biryani’. A distinctive Marathi film that delves into the Maoist problem, showcasing the compassionate aspect of political turmoil. In a time dominated by biopics and historical films, it also sheds light on crimes stemming from the caste system and oppressive measures taken by the government and administration.
Directed by Hemant Awtade, the movie stars Aditya Nagraj Manjule, Sayaji Shinde, Sairat fame Akash Thosar, Sayli Patil and Pravin Dalimbkar. However Sayaji Shinde and Nagraj Manjule’s stellar performance steal the show.

Set in a fictional Kolagad region of Maharashtra, it follows the clash between Pallam played by Sayaji Shinde, the leader of a group masquerading as “dacoits” but actually Maoists, and Raya played by Nagraj Manjule. Commander Pallam and his rebels plan revenge on an MLA from their forest hideout. But it is not that simple as there are so many challenges ahead.
“Ghar Banduk Biryani” is a unique political satire that blends singing, dancing, comedy, and Maoist themes. The first half may feel plain with little significant events, but Sayaji Shinde’s comic performance is a highlight. Overall, it’s a decent entertainer despite a few oversight. It’s worth watching on Zee5.
