
Kangana Ranaut’s Emergency was flooded with controversies ahead of its release in the theatres.
As the film looked to have a good opening, it fumbled at the box office after a decent opening. While critics rated the film to be a decent watch, it lost all the grip after its first day at the box office.

The film portrayed the controversial phase of the Indian Government during the internal Emergency which was imposed by Indira Gandhi, the Prime Minister of India at the time.
The topic itself was a risky one to choose and the makers tried to showcase the incidents in the most presentable manner.

Kangana Ranaut shined throughout the film portraying Indira Gandhi. Veterans including Satish Kaushik, Anupam Kher and Shreyas Talpade made the film more impactful with their roles.
After having a poor box office outing yet decent reviews, the film is all set to appear on OTT platform Netflix from March 17.

Only time will tell if the film will have a great digital reception or not. However, Netflix will certainly provide a wider audience for the film.
