Netflix India is on a roll these days buying big film’s digital rights. In the recent past, we have seen many pan-India biggies like RRR, Salaar and Animal having their OTT premiere on Netflix.
Meanwhile, the streaming giant’s upcoming lineup also includes many pan-India films made by Southern industries.
Allu Arjun’s Pushpa 2 lands on Netflix after its theatrical run. While the first part is on Amazon Prime Video, the much-awaited second part will land on Netflix.
Netflix also bought the streaming rights of Jr NTR’s Devara part 1. The movie will have its theatrical release on October 10.
Kamal Haasan and Shankar’s Indian 2’s digital rights were bought by Netflix. There is a huge anticipation around it as it is a sequel to the 1996 blockbuster Indian.
Netflix also acquired the post-theatrical digital rights of Thalapathy Vijay and Venkat Prabhu’s Greatest Of The All Time.
Ajith Kumar’s Vidaa Muyarchi and Vikram’s Thangalaan were also bought by Netflix. On the whole, a series of pan-India South biggies will land on Netflix this year, increasing its prospects of gaining a good subscriber base.
