New Present For Sports Enthusiasts At Prime Video!

Thursday morning saw major good news for sports enthusiasts as digital streaming platform, Prime Video launched its first dedicated sports channel, joining hands with Disney Sports owned live streaming service FanCode.

Through this collaboration, the platform will now be offering fans access to both domestic and international events across 15+sports, including popular ones like Cricket, Rugby, Basketball and Kabaddi. Amazon has earlier streamed live cricket matches including a series of India vs New Zealand and has been looking forward to expanding its forte ever since.

To avail the sports streaming benefits, Prime users will have to purchase an additional add-on subscription to FanCode over their current plan which will cost INR 249 annually. With Fancode holding rights with various big names like ICC Pathways, Cricket West Indies, FIFA U17 World Cup, AFC Championship and others, this deal is a definite steal.

FanCode’s cofounder Colaco said that the platform wants to reach every sports fan across the country and this association with Prime Video is a step in that direction. Recently we had seen high stake showdowns between Billionaire Mukesh Ambani and digital giant Disney over the streaming rights for the Indian Premier league. This announcement ensures an even more competitive industry which is ultimately beneficial for the users as more even more lucrative offers are now sure to be put on display.
