Rarely do we come across a piece of entertainment that can be called “genre reviving.” The Boys came into the scene when the whole comic book movie genre was seeing an all-time low. The people were already talking about “superhero fatigue.” The massive MCU was on the brink of plummeting. Then came the boys. A superhero show that flipped the rhetoric on its head. The heroes were not the heroes anymore. The idea of a superhero in the media was always associated with the goody-two-shoes persona. Homeland and the Seven changed that forever.
Gone were the days when superhero media was supposed to be for a child’s usual “good over evil” tales. Instead, we saw an overpowered tyrant in the making who was unstoppable, and the only ones standing against him were Billy the Butcher and his boys. They were clearly not the ideal heroes either. This freshness that was brought to the genre by The Boys is what makes it so good.

The boys are coming ever closer to the final escalation. And now we have the fourth season, which is garnering more popularity than ever before. With the fourth season, The Boys has seen a growth in its viewership of up to 21% relative to Season 3. The insane world-building and dynamic pacing have earned it this achievement. The show has never failed to keep the viewers on the edge of their seats with their expectations, which it subverts like no other. The series continues to perform better than ever, even after facing harsh judgments from critics and fans about the wokeism that is allegedly seeping in slowly. The review bombing and the negativity seem to have no effect on the invincibility of The Boys.
