There was a phase in Bollywood when every year we used to get three to four sports movies, and many of them proved to be successful. Now it seems that time is gone. When we see the fate of a movie like “83,” which was hyped so much, will “Maidaan” be able to bring back the glory?
The much-awaited final trailer of “Maidaan” just dropped. It shows TEAM India’s underdog story to win the first international match in football. Here, Ajay Devgn plays India’s football coach, Raheem, who finds players from different parts of India who can give their best at any position.
On his way to achieve this momentous task, there exists Gajraj Rao as a major roadblock, who time and again gives a reality check to Raheem.
One of the biggest attractions of “Maidaan” is A.R. Rahman. He can just elevate things to the next level with his unique sound. We are already enjoying his latest album “Chamkila,” for that matter. And so, we can expect some soulful tracks from this movie too.
The trailer overall feels decent, but what lacks here is a little newness. Nothing unique is shown, or there’s nothing that can make the audience tempted to watch it in theaters. It’s all just good and nothing extraordinary. Will Ajay Devgn’s audience-pulling ability bring back the audience to the theaters? We will have to wait until April 10th, 2024.
