Finally, “Animal,” Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s third movie after “Arjun Reddy,” and “Kabir Singh,” has hit theaters, and oh boy, it is creating waves in cinema theaters all over India. It can be easily one of the highest openings of 2023. Public reactions are just what everyone has anticipated.
It was promoted as Vanga’s most violent movie, and there is no doubt he succeeded in maintaining that energy throughout the three hours and 21 minutes of the film. Upon exiting the theater, the audience is ecstatic as Ranbir gives his best performance, and so does Vanga. The film is not only violent in terms of action but also in the portrayal of characters. Ranbir’s character, in no way, can be called a hero. Although the movie is exceptionally long, which might get difficult for a few people to sit through, the audience on social media as well as after coming out of theaters loved it.
The movie is filled with numerous twists and turns that keep the audience hooked and engaged in this long, disturbing drama. The childhood trauma that has shaped Ranbir’s character into an “animal” will send shivers down your spine. The film contains many problematic scenes that will make you hate the characters, and Vanga’s unapologetic approach is the reason this movie is gaining so much attention. It sends a message to filmmakers that audiences are no longer confined to morally correct stories and crave serious, realistic narratives akin to those seen in the West.
