SonyLIV had a wonderful chance of creating an edge in Indian sports streaming but looks like they did not use the opportunity to their favour.
It seems SonyLIV is repeating the same mistakes that Jio Hotstar did with the IPL streaming. Fans are tired of crappy commentary on Hotstar and they hoped SonyLIV will do something different with UCL.
But the Hindi commentary for UCL seemed very tortuous too and people were not very satisfied with it. There is a huge number of football fans in India and they stay excited for the whole year for UCL.
It is an important tournament that must be streamed properly. The commentary can change the whole experience and that is what happened on SonyLIV.
There was no English audio available as well which is more frustrating to fans. There has to be multiple audios for international shows like this.
There will be more matches in the tournament soon and football fans are excited. The platform can rectify their mistakes soon and add multiple commentary audios and a good panel too. It can put SonyLIV a lot forward to Jio Hotstar and the platform should not let the chance go away to impress Indian OTT audience.
