Saudi Arabian film 7 Dogs created headlines a few days ago with its trailer when people witnessed that Salman Khan and Sanjay Dutt would make brief appearances. While this was expected to create records at the box office in India, the situation has turned out to be the opposite.
Online reports have claimed for now that the movie’s collection has been Rs. 10 lacs so far. But some others stated that the real figure is even lower than the reports, and it stands at only Rs. 6 lacs.
Audiences have called it an embarrassing moment for big stars like Salman and Sanjay. A few even stated that while Hollywood films like The Odyssey and Spider-Man: Brand New Day collected more than Rs. 100-200 crores in India without the presence of any Bollywood stars, 7 Dogs could not achieve something similar despite the special appearance of two known faces.
Fans of Salman are also disappointed. Most of them believed that a good collection from 7 Dogs in India could have helped to build some buzz for his upcoming movie. But fans have now reacted by saying that the superstar has to now work hard on his next, which is directed by Vamshi Paidipally.
Some fans even questioned Salman’s choice to do the cameo. They pointed out that his cameo in a film like Pathaan can only mint crores compared to a Saudi Arabian film with actors who are completely unknown to the masses.
Salman’s supporters are now asking him to be a little careful about what he is doing next. A few requested the writer and director to make changes if needed to ensure that the content is up to the mark. As of now, nothing much can be predicted until promotional material is revealed.
Let’s wait and see if the underwhelming response to 7 Dogs will impact the hype for Salman’s next film, releasing in Eid 2027.
