The Race franchise, created by Abbas-Mustan years ago, built a fan base for its unpredictable twists. However, the response to the franchise took a different turn when Race 3 came out in 2018, receiving extreme criticism for its storyline and performances.
While netizens have been wondering what the future of the franchise could be, it has finally got a new update. Social media reports have revealed that Aamir Khan is supposed to enter the franchise now with Race 4.
The biggest news for now is that the script is also ready. Aamir has liked the script for now. Furthermore, Vijay Krishna Acharya, who worked with Aamir on Dhoom 3 and Thugs of Hindostan, has been reportedly approached to direct the upcoming movie.
While Aamir and Vijay have yet to confirm the news, the update has once again brought the Race franchise back into the limelight. Discussions have already started on social media about what can be expected from the sequel.
Although netizens believe that Aamir’s presence might bring audiences to the theatres, they claimed that the Race franchise was over a long time ago. People said that Race 3 has already destroyed the franchise to a great extent and now it cannot be revived anymore, even with the biggest of the biggest superstars.
A particular section still stated that the sequel might work. However, the only condition will be the return of Saif Ali Khan, which looks impossible, specifically for a role that he did more than ten years ago. Some said that the same role might not fit the actor anymore, considering his age.
Aamir’s fans have come out in support of him, saying that people should not start judging until they see the trailer. But the major concern that remains for now is Vijay Krishna Acharya, who does not have a good track record, except for Dhoom 3. A few fans of Aamir also opposed the decision to bring Vijay and instead preferred the return of Abbas-Mustan.
As of now, nothing much can be said about what might happen with Race 4. Although netizens have shared their opinion, the final decision will be made by the makers about who they would prefer to bring as the lead and the director.
