Ajay Devgn has a lot of films in his upcoming lineup and one of them is the action-adventure Ranger, helmed by Jagan Shakti, known for Mission Mangal.
As per the latest update, the film is going on floors next month as the filming process is scheduled to begin in the forests of Ooty. Ranger will also mark the on-screen appearance of Ajay and Sanjay Dutt after a long time, with the latter playing the main villain.

On the other hand, Ajay will appear in the lead role as forest officer Ranger Singh, who must fight against the ongoing criminal activity of animal poaching. Sanjay is expected to start shooting sometime this year and the film is supposed to be released by the middle of 2026.
The main premise would be taken from a book, also titled Ranger, which was published in 2018, and was written by Aseem Arora and Richa Ganesh. The former has also penned the screenplay and apart from India, the film would be shot in other outside locations.

Ranger is expected to be a completely new offering from Bollywood considering that action-adventure films set in the forests have not been attempted for a long time after Kaal in 2005. It also might give a strong competition to S.S. Rajamouli’s upcoming project of the same genre, SSMB29.
Jagan Shakti’s last film was Mission Mangal, which emerged as a huge blockbuster and his collaboration with Ajay might help in bringing profits to the box office.

Since the writer of the book has also contributed to the screenplay, it will be a completely new experience for him and in case he does not add thrilling elements, the film might turn out to be a failure.
On the other hand, Ajay’s career has also gone through a lot of ups and downs after the COVID-19 pandemic, with Shaitaan and Drishyam 2 being the only blockbusters so far.
Ranger is expected to be a big-budget project and it remains to be seen if the action-adventure’s promotional material can attract huge crowds to the big screen.
