Ajay Devgn is preparing to make a comeback at the box office with Raid 2 on May 1st and aims to have a decent outing at the box office.

This comes after her recent disastrous performance in Singham Again and Azaad. Devgn’s upcoming schedule heavily depends upon sequels and remakes so Raid 2’s performance will certainly impact his releases ahead.
The trailer of the film showcased nothing new but the same plot of finding black money through an income tax raid and gave a glimpse of Riteish Deshmukh as the antagonist.

Generating mixed responses from the fans, the film currently has minimal hype and excitement which might pose a huge problem ahead.
Being a franchise film for the actor, Raid 2 seems to underperform in terms of hype and excitement.

As franchise films like Jolly LLB 3, Son of Sardaar 2 and Housefull 5 are ready to take over the cinemas with a guaranteed formula of success, things might get difficult for franchise films if Raid 2 fails to deliver.
It also shows how franchise films also fail at the box office if it does not have any surprise element and how fans are selective and smart while watching new films.
As it stands, Raid 2 seems to have an underwhelming opening given the hype of less than 15 crores. The film has an advantage by getting a Thursday release along with a holiday.
Only time will tell if it will be able to make a decent outing out of it or not.
