It can’t get anything bigger than a Salman Khan movie for the masses in Bollywood. Radhe is one of the most awaited releases of the year. It is set to release on May 13th. However, in the current situation, it looks impossible to have a theatrical release.

Amidst a situation like this, Salman Khan has taken a bold decision as he is also the part-producer for Radhe. The biggie will release simultaneously on digital and theatrical platforms. It is the first such movie to get a release like this.

In the past, when makers of Laxmmi tried to have a similar release, the exhibition sectors vehemently opposed it. But, now, they seem to have no objection given the pathetic situation.

A release like this has been possible so far only in Hollywood. Will it mean more movies from other Indian film industry also arrive this way with a Bollywood film taking the route? Or will it be restricted to Bolly movies? Either way, it will be a game-changer if it happens. The chances of that happening aren’t entirely ruled out.

Radhe will hit the screens as announced on May 13th. It will also be available for streaming on Zee Plex in the Pay-per-view model. Previously, few movies took the ‘Pay-per-view’ model to release but didn’t have a theatrical release.
