With the thunderstorm of Chhaava at the box office fans are raising concerns about the content of Bollywood and how it is taking a new shape. While social media is divided into two sides, hard facts cannot be overlooked.
Many netizens pointed out that films like Chhaava have a lot of historical baggage and have the power to educate people. Same applies to films like The Kerala Story, The Kashmir Files, The Sabarmati Report and many others that have been released in recent years and have a religious angle.
Added to the box office collection such films can alter ideologies at a larger front. Hence, many netizens called them out for being biased in handling history and many outright rejected them as propaganda films.
The fervour of Chhaava has an entertainment factor but the Maratha dynasty upholds a great relevance to the past. Thus a positive representation of their leader Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj has moved them on an emotional level.
The state might also be planning to make the film tax free. Fans are reassured that nothing can stop Chhaava from breaking records in 2025.
