Now she will be seen with Emraan Hashmi in a courtroom drama inspired by a real-life case from 1985. She will be portraying the character of Shah Bano while Emraan Hashmi will play the role of Ahmed Khan from the Shah Bano case that shook the law system in 1985.

The Shah Bano case, officially titled Mohd. Ahmed Khan v. Shah Bano Begum was a landmark legal battle in India that centered on the right of a divorced Muslim woman to claim maintenance under Section 125 of the Criminal Procedure Code (CrPC).
