Aamir Khan’s Next Film in Trouble: What Went Wrong?

Aamir Khan and Lalkaara film update

Ashutosh Gowariker’s upcoming film, Lalkaara, had a chance of bringing Aamir Khan and Farhan Akhtar together, many years after Dil Chahta Hai. However, it will not happen now.

A new update has recently confirmed that Farhan has left the film and Sidhant Gupta has been cast for the role that was supposed to be played by the singer and director. While Farhan’s exit immediately led to a lot of questions, it has been revealed that the decision was not a result of some bad experience.

Farhan Akhtar is working on a film by Neeraj Pandey, which is based on the life of R.D. Burman. Notably, his exit is a result of scheduling issues, as he has to prepare himself in a different form to portray the lead role. Farhan wants to show full dedication to the film until the shooting is completed.

The same transformation was needed for Lalkaara, which included months of cricket training and a long shooting schedule. Farhan eventually chose the biopic and exited Aamir’s film, where he will continue serving as a producer with Ritesh Sidhwani under Excel Entertainment.

The replacement is reported to bring some changes to the production schedule. But expectations are sky-high for Sidhant, who has given his best in shows like Inside Edge, Jubilee, and more.

On the other hand, netizens reacted by praising the makers for not stopping the production and immediately opting for a replacement. However, they are concerned about how much time the film is going to take and whether Farhan’s exit is the beginning of the project’s bad luck, leading to possibly more changes in the upcoming months.

Aamir’s fans have defended the film, saying that the superstar shares a good bond with Ashutosh for a long time and this will help to bring something unique to the big screen, marking a comeback for both Aamir and Ashutosh.

The movie is going on the floors in October 2026. Let’s wait and see if Aamir will deliver what audiences want from him this time.
