Sunny Deol’s Jaat has been a decent watch for the viewers and in terms of box office collection, the film has been mediocre at best.

Since its 10th April release, Jaat has shown consistent collections but given the amount of star power and expectations it had, the film has underperformed.

“Our advance booking window opened only a day before the release. Had it opened two-three days earlier, we would’ve got bigger opening numbers. But since then, it has only grown, said Gopichand Malineni.

Things got out of hand when the film had a controversy regarding a scene where Randeep Hooda stood in a pose resembling Jesus Christ’s crucifixion.

The director defended his part by stating “No filmmaker wants to hurt any people or community. We want to entertain them”.

As Jaat continues to show consistent collections despite having competition from Kesari Chapter 2, it remains to be seen if it will be able to cross the 100-crore mark or not.
