The first look of Akshay Kumar and Priyadarshan’s upcoming film, Haiwaan, was released a few days ago. Notably, the posters have received a positive response, and the film also features Saif Ali Khan playing an important role.
With around a month left for release, Haiwaan has created headlines as Priyadarshan has opened up about his original plan for the movie, which was made before it entered production. The director said in an interview that the role of Akshay, who is playing a villain, was supposed to be given to Bobby Deol.
Furthermore, Akshaye Khanna was also considered at one point, which eventually did not happen. Priyadarshan revealed that Akshay Kumar became a part of the film without any lengthy discussion.
Priyadarshan said that Akshay once asked him about his next and the director responded by saying that he was unable to find a villain. Akshay eventually asked if he could do the role. Priyadarshan also stated that he never narrates his films to Akshay.
Following the latest interview, netizens started reacting on social media. Most of them stated that Bobby could have been a good villain, considering that people have seen his roles in Animal, Daaku Maharaaj, and other films.
On the other hand, a particular section claimed that although Bobby is undoubtedly a good choice, people are now getting restless after seeing him play the villain multiple times. Some stated that Akshay is the right choice since the movie is expected to bring out a different side of the actor this time.
A few others reacted by saying that while Saif and Bobby’s combo would have been fresh for the audience, it cannot pull the audience to the theatres compared to the situation that is expected to happen due to Akshay’s presence.
As of now, the posters have created a lot of buzz. The release date of September 11, 2026, is locked. Expectations are sky-high after Bhooth Bangla. Let’s wait and see if Priyadarshan and Akshay Kumar’s combo will create records at the box office once again.
