Housefull 5 Forgotten: Akshay Kumar Pushes Nepo Kids

Akshay Kumar’s biggest comedic launch of 2025 is just a couple of weeks away, and he seems to have completely forgotten about it, presumably because he’s too busy launching Bollywood’s next gen.

Known for managing multiple projects simultaneously, Akshay has remained silent about his upcoming Housefull 5, a franchise that once defined his comedic timing.

The film was also recently caught in a lawsuit for copyright issues over the song “Laal Pari,” leading to the teaser being taken down from YouTube.

One might think this would be enough to send Akshay into emergency damage control mode, but instead he’s been occupied with promoting the next generation of Bollywood stars— who just so happen to be his relatives.

Simar Bhatia, Akshay’s niece, will be debuting alongside Agastya Nanda and Varun Dhawan in a war drama directed by Sriram Raghavan titled “Ikkis.”

Not long after this announcement, Agastya was spotted with Naomika Saran— granddaughter of Rajesh Khanna and niece of Akshay’s wife —outside Maddock Films’ office, reportedly for a romantic comedy produced by Dinesh Vijan.

Netizens are in a frenzy wondering whether Akshay ever plans to promote his own film instead of backing nepo launches.

But this isn’t the only way Akshay’s been avoiding Housefull 5; last week he was also seen promoting the release of Kesari 2 in Telugu.

Meanwhile, Housefull 5, the biggest expected comedy ensemble of the year, is dragging itself towards the release with no hype, no marketing, and a teaser that got mysteriously taken down.

Is Akshay hoping the film will promote itself? Or is he quietly distancing himself from an impending doom?

Either way, Bollywood’s nepotism debate just got another kickstart, and Akshay’s PR strategy the big old question mark.
