John Abraham-Objectified, Sexualized by Women?

From Dostana and Dhoom to Satyamev Jayate and The Diplomat, John Abraham is one of the most underrated actors in Bollywood.

In a recent interview, John admitted that he often feels objectified and sexualized by women, but he doesn’t mind it. His looks and physique were his way of entering the industry and making a name for himself.

Once he had established his place, he got the freedom to take risks with his characters and roles.

The Diplomat actor also spoke about how he is highly comfortable and secure in himself as an actor.

Citing his film Vedaa as an example, he shared that it didn’t bother him that the story revolved around a female protagonist. As an actor, he is so secure in himself that he doesn’t mind stepping back and letting someone else take the spotlight.

He also pointed out that, in today’s time, not many actors would be willing to take on a role like Abhimanyu’s. His character dies in the film and even acknowledges that he is just a facilitator, the real star is someone else.

John remarked that nowadays, most actors want to be in the spotlight. Only a handful are willing to step back and allow another performer to shine.

This, he believes, is why a film like Ocean’s 11 isn’t possible to make in India right now. Everyone wants to be the main hero.




At best, India could produce an Ocean’s 2, but even then, both lead characters wouldn’t be given equal importance because both actors would want to be the main hero.
