Jolly LLB 3 Advance Booking Halted by PVR Over VPF Fee. The film’s release faced another setback after poor advance sales, raising concerns for Akshay Kumar fans who were expecting a strong comeback.
On September 17, PVR Inox, India’s largest multiplex chain, suspended the advance booking of Jolly LLB 3. The decision followed a major disagreement between the production house and the cinema chain.
Audiences were shocked when PVR Inox stopped advance bookings and removed the film from its platform. However, bookings resumed on September 18 morning after a heated exchange between both sides.
Reports suggest the production house of Jolly LLB 3 had not paid the Virtual Print Fee (VPF). This non-payment led cinemas to put the shows on hold, demanding settlement before proceeding further.
The VPF is a fee paid by producers to theatres to upgrade sound, visuals, and projection technology. While Hollywood does not follow this practice, Star Studio18, part of Disney and Viacom, attempted to skip the same process.
PVR Inox responded by halting all shows and insisting that the production house pay the VPF. Though no final decision has been reached, advance bookings restarted earlier today.
As Jolly LLB 3 already struggles with low advance sales, this delay cost the film an extra 17 to 18 hours of lost booking time nationwide on PVR Inox screens.
Now, all eyes are on how the Akshay Kumar and Arshad Warsi starrer will perform at the box office after the behind-the-scenes drama.
