Big B, SRK, Salman: Today’s Stars Burdening Producers?

KC Bokadia on Bollywood stars' rising costs

Well-known producer KC Bokadia has recently opened up about the good side of some of the biggest superstars from Bollywood.

Bokadia’s words referred to how situations have changed in the film industry over the years, while he claimed that some superstars had no expectations from the producers when it came to paying the money for their personal things.

Bokadia mentioned that actors should take care of production costs and that the finances involved with a project are very necessary. Bokadia also stated that there was a period when the entire team used to spend time with each other on set, including that they had food and that the same things do not exist anymore.

Bokadia praised the actions of Amitabh Bachchan, Shah Rukh Khan, Salman Khan, and Rajinikanth, addressing how they took care of the personal staff. He said that Amitabh never took the team’s salary, and the other three never made producers pay the team working on the film.

Referring to the superstars, Bokadia opened up about today’s situation, saying that actors want several vanity vans with all the necessary requirements. Apart from this, he also addressed the expenses of the vans and staff maintenance that can eventually lead to a rise in the film’s budget.

Bokadia asked the actors to show some mercy to the producers, saying that if the ongoing situation continues, the day is not far away when everything has to be arranged on rent.

Netizens reacted to KC Bokadia’s interview, saying that the points raised by the producer are the major reasons why Bollywood films are not working anymore at the box office. A few even referred to some old reports of actors asking for additional facilities on set, saying that everyone has to go back to the old format of working or else the films will continue to flop.

On the other hand, a section refused to believe the words said by KC Bokadia, with some people also alleging that this was possibly a paid interview, aiming to portray a positive image of the superstars at a time when small-budget films with no known faces are working at the box office.

KC Bokadia’s interview has clearly created a new concern for the filmmakers, where costs have to be kept as low as possible for better revenue once the movie arrives at the big screen. It remains to be seen how long it is going to take for these changes to be implemented.
