The Kerala Story 2 has once again sparked controversy after filmmaker Anurag Kashyap criticised the upcoming film. He labelled the movie as “bullsh*t,” which quickly triggered strong reactions online.
Director Kamakhya Narayan has now responded sharply to Anurag Kashyap’s remarks. Kamakhya referred to Kashyap as “mentally unstable” and accused him of having issues with nearly every subject.
Kamakhya Narayan also cited Anurag Kashyap’s film That Girl in Yellow Boots during his response. He recalled a controversial relationship portrayed in the film, stating that such depictions are not acceptable in a civilised society.
The director further claimed that Anurag Kashyap is no longer taken seriously by society. He also alleged that Kashyap’s films have failed to perform well at the box office over the last two years.
Meanwhile, the trailer of The Kerala Story 2 has been making headlines since its release. The film reportedly follows the same subject as the first part but presents it in a bolder and more intense manner.
Anurag Kashyap’s remarks have added to the already divided response surrounding the film’s theme. The subject continues to generate strong opinions across social media platforms.
Several online users came out in support of Kamakhya Narayan. They claimed the film would turn out to be a blockbuster and even thanked Anurag for giving the movie additional publicity through his criticism.
Some users mocked Anurag Kashyap by pointing to his comparatively weaker commercial track record. They argued that his criticism lacks credibility due to his recent box office performance.
On the other hand, a section of viewers supported Anurag Kashyap’s stance. They expressed concern that the film could create social conflict and promote hatred towards a particular religion instead of spreading awareness.
At present, audience curiosity around The Kerala Story 2 remains high. However, the biggest challenge for the makers will be matching or surpassing the impact of the first instalment.
