Rajkummar Rao’s next film, Maalik, is all set to be released in theatres on July 11, 2025. The teaser of the upcoming gangster action-thriller came out on June 3, 2025, and it features some thrilling moments that will be loved by the audience.
The teaser begins with a shot of Rajkummar holding a gun in his hand. A voiceover by the actor says that there are two kinds of people in the world, one of them earns through hard work, and the other one earns by using bloody methods.
Rajkummar’s character says that he belongs to the other side, and he does not care what people think about him. This is followed by a few shots where Rajkummar aggressively beats up a few people and possibly kills someone with a shovel.
The teaser features other moments where Rajkummar is surrounded by a small gang, and it seems like the film will feature a storyline of an underdog who rises in power to become a hero.
Director Pulkit has undoubtedly attempted to present Rajkummar in the best form possible as a gangster. However, Rajkummar is not looking so intense or intimidating in the role of a gangster, except in the sequences where he performs some action.
Apart from that, there is nothing much that leaves an impression. Rajkummar Rao is not looking different, and he has the same appearance as he has had in the last few films.
For now, nothing can be said with conviction as the film’s trailer is not out yet, and it is yet to arrive in theatres. The trailer might feature something better compared to what we have seen in the teaser.
Rajkummar Rao is a versatile actor who can leave an impression with any kind of character that he portrays.
Now, the biggest question is whether audiences would like to accept him in such roles. Rajkummar does not have a big box office pull unless he appears in films like Srikanth and Stree 2.
However, there have been situations where Rajkummar’s films have not done so well despite having good content. Let’s wait and see if the same happens with Maalik this time.
