Jaideep Ahlawat, who received critical appreciation for his intense acting in Paatal Lok, was approached to act as Ravana’s brother Vibhishana in the much-awaited Ramayana film directed by Nitesh Tiwari.
The fans and critics believed that he would have been perfect for the role, keeping in mind the fact that he could enact complex, impactful characters with depth and realism.

Director Nitesh Tiwari should be credited for his excellent casting, assembling a world-class star cast with Ranbir Kapoor as Lord Rama, Sai Pallavi as Mata Sita, and Yash as Ravana.
Jaideep could not accept the offer due to competing schedules and prior commitments, which is a loss for the project. His style of acting would have imparted commanding emotional depth to the metamorphosis of the character—to be Ravana’s devoted brother and become Lord Rama’s brother.

Jaideep’s tact in acting would have rendered Vibhishana’s character memorable and impactful. His character as Vibhishana would have been memorable and impactful.
The Ramayana is shot in two parts and features other lead actors like Sunny Deol, Lara Dutta, and Kunal Kapoor. The lack of Jaideep Ahlawat may be felt, but the interest in the film remains very high.
