Amidst all this Prime Minister Narendra Modi has talked positively of the film in an indirect sense. The films’ protagonist is Sankaran Nair from Kerala who fought the legal battle against General Dyer after the Jallianwala Bagh massacre.
He praised Sankaran Nair in a ceremony where he was speaking about the massacre which took place 106 years ago. This statement coming near the release of the film has made fans believe that BJP will support the film as it might also help them expand their reach in Kerala.

But ironically most of the films the government has supported have been a box-office failure, hence this might not be good news for Akshay Kumar looking for a big box-office return. Fans are afraid that it might join the ranks of films like Samrat Prithviraj, Sabarmati Report, Emergency and Adipurush.
