Jai Jai Ram, the new single from Nitesh Tiwari’s Ramayana, is finally out now. It features the vocals of Shreya Ghoshal and Arijit Singh. It is a combination that is expected to leave an impression on the audience. However, the reactions have turned out to be different.
Although a majority have appreciated the visuals and the effort to provide something authentic, most of them are disappointed with the final result. The major criticism has been towards the lyrics.
People said that Dr. Kumar Vishwas, who wrote the lyrics, could have created something better. Netizens wrote that it is the quality of the lyrics that has completely destroyed the magic that could have been created with the voices of Arijit and Shreya.
Some said that Dr. Kumar Vishwas was not the right choice, stating that although he is a good poet, he cannot be expected to write good lyrics. On the other hand, a particular section stated that it is Arijit who was the wrong choice for such a beautiful song.
People even compared the song with the single from Adipurush, Ram Siya Ram, stating that Manoj Muntashir’s work was much better in comparison. A few others wrote that Dr. Kumar Vishwas should have approached the team that worked on Ramanand Sagar’s Ramayana to get a better idea.
Meanwhile, a large section also supported the song and spoke up against the criticism. They said that the lyrics did not hurt anyone’s sentiments, which was more important compared to its quality. Some said that the audience should hold their judgment for some time until the movie arrives at the big screen.
Ramayana has been facing criticism for a lot of reasons, even before the release of the trailer. While netizens have pointed out to multiple red flags, let’s wait and see if it will impact the box office numbers of the film in any manner.
