Rohit Shetty John Abraham

Rohit Shetty will be attempting a completely new genre with his upcoming film which is based on the life of the former Police Commissioner of Mumbai, Rakesh Maria.

While the film has been in the headlines for a long time, Rohit has reportedly finalized John Abraham to play the lead character. However, an official confirmation is currently awaited on the same and Rohit is yet to respond to the reports.

An insider stated that Rakesh Maria’s life was full of ups and downs and controversial situations. The source added that the film will be a completely new experience for the audience that will be enhanced through Rohit’s habit of bringing a larger-than-life storytelling on the big screen.

The basic premise will be taken from a book, Let Me Say It Now, based on Rakesh Maria, and filming is supposed to start in the upcoming month, and will go on for 45 days.

The production phase will end by June following which Rohit will move on to the upcoming season of Khatron Ke Khiladi alongside Golmaal 5.

The film was originally supposed to feature Hrithik Roshan, which did not happen for unknown reasons. Although John is now a part of the film, Rohit’s popularity has witnessed a little decline after Cirkus and Singham Again.

Considering that Rohit has always focused on grandness in his films, he will possibly focus on that field despite that the upcoming project is a biopic. On the other hand, John is desperately looking for a hit film, and his collaboration with John is expected to bring profits to the box office.

However, audiences are not interested in biopics anymore and everyone is well aware of what happened with Maidaan and Chandu Champion last year.

Now it remains to be seen if the upcoming film’s promotional material will be strong enough to attract the audience or will lead to the film’s failure, making it a disaster in the end.
