Salman Khan Convicted in Blackbucks Poaching CaseBollywood Superstar Salman Khan was convicted in the 1998 Blackbuck Poaching Case by a Jodhpur court. The court will spell the quantum of the sentence in a little while. The other actors named in the charge sheet – Saif Ali Khan, Sonali Bendre, and Neelam Kothari were acquitted.

The case dates back to 1998 in which the endangered black buck deer was allegedly killed when Salman Khan and his co-stars Saif Ali Khan, Sonali Bendre, Neelam and Tabu, were shooting for a film in the forests near Jodhpur.

Later on, multiple cases were thrust on him for allegedly killing two chinkaras and two blackbucks on three hunts. In 2007, he spent a week in jail in Jodhpur before being granted bail. Salman Khan was earlier acquitted in a couple of cases including a Hit and Run Case.
