Dabang Singham Movies

It has become normal for any film to get a sequel. While some of them worked, others failed to leave an impression on the audience and box office.

Talking about today, Singham Again and Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 are doing wonders when it comes to collections. But at the same time, the content has once again raised the question of whether such follow-ups are needed for now or in the upcoming years.

The producers have always ensured to bring some amazing stories when it comes to sequels. But in some cases, the situation has backfired even if the makers spent years to bring a sequel.

The best example is Tiger 3. Audiences had high expectations from this installment of the YRF Spy Universe. Unfortunately, the underwhelming screenplay and weak storyline contributed to an average response from the public.

Moreover, some stories do not need to be extended beyond a certain point. The same can be said for Singham as it deserved an ending in the second film. It seems like the third part was made mostly to introduce new characters since somewhere the lead character went out of focus.

Even Bhool Bhulaiyaa did not need a sequel. The follow-ups worked only because the horror genre has a heavy demand in Bollywood. Apart from this, there is nothing new when it comes to the plot and audiences have frequently demanded the casting of Akshay Kumar, which did not happen for unknown reasons

On the other hand, certain iconic characters have been wasted in the name of sequels. Chulbul Pandey’s personality was perfect when it came to the first two films of the Dabangg franchise. But thanks to Salman Khan’s bad writing, the character’s swag was missing in the third film.

Makers must learn from the makers of Dhoom and Munnabhai since these are the only two franchises that maintained originality in terms of the characters and overall presentation.

The absence of good writers is another reason why we hardly get to see original content nowadays. Multiple sequels and remakes are on the way and although it cannot be said that all these would lead to the end of Bollywood, but they will leave the distributors in heavy loss.
