The Kapoor family is facing two major setbacks this week. Shraddha Kapoor suffered an injury during the shoot of her upcoming film, while her brother Siddhanth Kapoor’s name has come up in a ₹252 crore drug investigation.
Shraddha was shooting Eetha, a biopic on Lavani icon Vithabai Narayangaonkar. While performing a Lavani sequence in Aundhewadi near Nashik, she lost her balance due to her heavy costume and jewellery. She fell and injured her toe, forcing the team to stop the shoot for now.
The incident has drawn attention to the physical strain of traditional dance performances and the risks involved when costumes are elaborate. Shraddha is expected to recover soon, but the injury has paused the film’s production temporarily.
Meanwhile, Siddhanth Kapoor has been summoned by the Anti-Narcotics Cell for questioning on November 25. His name surfaced during the interrogation of accused individuals linked to a large mephedrone network uncovered earlier this year.
A major 2024 raid in Sangli exposed a factory tied to the syndicate, where investigators seized over 120 kg of mephedrone worth ₹252 crore. Officers say the accused organised high-profile parties where the drugs were circulated, and they are now verifying all claims.
With both situations developing at the same time, the Kapoor family is dealing with a difficult mix of personal and legal troubles.
