The official teaser for Sikandar was released yesterday, but it did little to excite fans.
Written and directed by A.R. Murugadoss, the film stars Salman Khan and Rashmika Mandanna and is scheduled for an Eid release.
However, the teaser has received mostly negative reviews.
Salman’s acting appears lethargic, as if he isn’t putting in any real effort.
The dialogues are barely audible, and the ones that can be heard are delivered so casually and half-heartedly that they fail to make an impact.
Many viewers noted that Salman looks disinterested throughout the film.
His appearance across movies, ads, and cameos seems unchanged, making his look highly repetitive.
Some even pointed out that Salman’s character looks too similar to his get-up in Bigg Boss.
His character could easily be mistaken to be taken straight out of an episode of the reality show. Even his dialogue delivery in the teaser carries the same energy level, if not less, than his hosting on Bigg Boss.
This raises the question: Is Bigg Boss a boon or a curse for Salman?
Having hosted the show for about 15 years, his body language, dressing style, dialogue delivery, and expressions now mirror his Bigg Boss persona.
But with that persona seeping into his film performances, it seems more of a curse than a blessing.
With Salman’s career on a steady decline, we can only hope Sikandar offers more than what the teaser suggests and helps him make a strong comeback as an actor.
