Swanand Kirkire is an award winning lyricist and poet, well known for his heartfelt and soulful writing. He recently appeared for an interview with Lallantop where he shared his view about modern day film’s idea on masculinity, especially putting Animal into question.

Swanand shared that men can be multidimensional and Sandeep Reddy Vanga only shows a violent side in his films. He had a special complaint with the dialogues that states that men who can’t become Alpha turn to poetry.

He challenged this idea by saying that songs and scenes in Animal heavily depend on poetic lyricism, which is pure hypocrisy. He said that such films being made are not a problem but the way their negative side goes unquestioned is harmful.
