T-Series, on Friday, unveiled the first song from the upcoming film Raid 2, starring Ajay Devgn as a crusading income tax officer.
The song, titled “Nasha,” features Tamannaah Bhatia dancing to the beats of White Noise Collective.
Set in what looks like an underground den, the music video shows Tamannaah dancing for an all-male audience, many of whom are seen drinking straight from bottles.
Tamannaah has been delivering sultry item songs back-to-back- Kaavaalaa in Jailer, Kamariya in Stree 2, and now Nasha in Raid 2.
She is undoubtedly a beautiful dancer, with the ability to captivate the audience and move effortlessly to the rhythm.
However, as good a dancer as she is, she is an even more brilliant actor.
Her ravishing dance moves may grab attention, but her acting skills are equally commendable.
While she also has a film releasing this year, Odela 2, it seems like her focus is increasingly shifting toward item numbers.
It’s understandable- doing a dance number can get her noticed by the audience much quicker than a film role might.
But an overload of such appearances can easily get her typecast as ‘the girl who does item numbers.’
It doesn’t take long for the industry to categorize an actor, especially when it comes to something as sensual and flashy as dance numbers.
Though she is a brilliant performer, if she keeps signing on for item songs, it might not be long before she’s only offered such roles, rather than the ones that truly showcase her acting talent.
