Sidharth Malhotra and Tamannaah’s The Vvaan trailer is finally out and has received mixed responses on social media. Of course, viewers are showing interest in its combination of Indian folklore, psychological mystery, horror and mythology.
Several users described the concept as an unmatched combination, while others praised the background music and the film’s attempt to build an Indian fantasy world with the scale of a major franchise.
One social media user called the mix of comedy, horror and mythology a potential blockbuster formula.
The Chhath Puja connection has also attracted attention. The folklore premise has therefore been seen by some users as an opportunity to bring regional cultural elements into mainstream Hindi cinema.
However, a few others have separate concerns. For instance, Sidharth has not been able to give a hit movie for a long time. That means the film cannot rely much on his acting skills.
The same goes for Tamannaah who hasn’t done much apart from appearing in a few item numbers in the past few years. Some users have also lashed out at the poor VFX of The Vvaan, which could have been better. So, technically it’s an average film.
For now, social media’s response suggests that The Vvaan has generated a little curiosity too. Now, its writing and execution will decide whether the excitement lasts beyond the trailer.
