The biggest challenge for The Vvaan is the arrival of Marvel’s Avengers: Endgame Encore on September 25. The re-release is expected to benefit from the massive popularity of the Avengers franchise, with extended footage and additional content designed to build excitement for Avengers: Doomsday.
A Marvel event film of this scale could impact the Sidharth Malhotra and Tamannaah starrer’s screen availability, especially in premium multiplexes and major urban markets where audience attention is already divided. With exhibitors often prioritising films that promise higher footfalls, The Vvaan may have to compete for screens and show timings during its theatrical journey.
Apart from the release clash, the film has also faced criticism after the launch of its teaser. Some viewers felt that it failed to create the expected impact. Concerns were raised regarding visual effects, production quality, use of AI elements and the overall presentation of the film. Some reactions also questioned the performances and felt that the teaser lacked the cinematic scale required for a big screen experience.
Meanwhile, there were also reports about certain portions of the movie being reshot. The film was originally scheduled for a release in Chhath Puja 25.
